This page is a printable field card for wallpaper glue powder. It summarises the mixing reference, rest time, coverage reference and a short sample-test record. Use the exact ratio on the product label or technical data sheet (TDS) for the final instruction; this card is a field aid, not a substitute for the TDS.
1. Mixing ratio reference
- Common reference ratios: 1:25 or 1:30 powder to water, depending on the model and TDS.
- Add powder to water while stirring, not water to powder, to reduce lumps.
- Stir until evenly dispersed, then let the mix rest for the time stated in the TDS before use.
Different models and markets may require a different ratio. Confirm the ratio for the exact model before mixing a full batch.
2. Viscosity reference
Published reference viscosity for Hangzhou KARN models is measured with a 5% solution, NDJ-8 (K6/999/999+) or NDJ-8S (KN-999), No. 4 rotor, 6 rpm:
- K6 Ordinary Grade: 38,000 ±10% mPa·s
- 999 Universal Grade: 60,000 ±10% mPa·s
- 999+ Anti-mold Grade: approx. 60,000 ±10% mPa·s
- KN-999: measured 40,141 mPa·s, DS 0.3-0.4
Do not compare viscosity numbers measured at different concentration, instrument, rotor or speed.
3. Coverage reference
200 g of powder is often quoted as approximately 25-30 m² of wallcovering. Treat that as a reference figure, not a guarantee: actual coverage depends on substrate porosity, wallcovering weight, application thickness and waste. Record the actual coverage from a sample area before estimating a project quantity.
4. Field record (print and fill)
| Item | Record |
|---|---|
| Product model | ____________ |
| Batch / COA number | ____________ |
| Powder weight / water volume | ____________ |
| Water temperature | ____________ |
| Rest time before use | ____________ |
| Open time observed | ____________ |
| Sample area and result | ____________ |
| Installer / date | ____________ |
5. Common field mistakes
- Adding water to powder, creating lumps.
- Skipping the rest time, reducing initial tack.
- Reusing a mix beyond the stated working time.
- Estimating coverage from another model or another substrate.
6. Documents to keep
Keep the TDS version, batch COA, and the filled field record with the project file. For a repeat order, compare the new batch against the retained sample and the original record.
